Condition and Evidence of Use
The cabinet is largely intact although severe damage to the veneer and plywood top is present. All components to the cabinet are present though separation of wood layers has made the drawer movement restricted.
The machine shows signs of regular use, with some wear to the decals and surfaces. Pin-rash is moderate to severe under the throat pin cushion. The machine was well maintained in its period of use as evident by the layers of oil. Moderate buildup of lint and thread present in the bobbin housing. Pins and debris present behind the front face plate. Mechanism was sluggish to partially frozen upon initial inspection. Lubrication and cleaning has restored operation to impeccable standards.

Model Features
The Singer 66-1 was one of Singer’s most successful early 20th-century sewing machines, prized by home users for its smooth operation, durable all-metal construction, and reliable stitching across a wide range of household fabrics. Designed with a full-size flatbed and using the widely recognized Singer Class 66 drop-in bobbin system, it offered convenient bobbin access and consistent tension. It is ideal for everyday garment repair, home sewing, and light craft work. Built during a period when Singer was dominating the global sewing machine market, the 66-1 represents a key step in the company’s shift toward standardized, high-volume manufacturing and broad household adoption. Its widespread production and long service life helped cement Singer’s reputation for dependable machines, making the 66-1 an enduring symbol of Singer’s industrial strength and its role in bringing practical sewing power into ordinary homes.
