About The Sewing Machine Orphanage
The Sewing Machine Orphanage was founded out of a love for the history, craft, and community that vintage sewing machines represent. Our mission is to provide a home for these remarkable machines, to honor the stories they carry, and to connect people with the legacy of sewing in everyday life.
We believe that every sewing machine has a story worth preserving. Whether it was used to clothe a family, start a business, or simply bring joy through creativity, each machine is a testament to resilience, ingenuity, and care. Our stewardship is rooted in respect for the past and a commitment to sharing these stories with future generations.
The Orphanage is run by one guy supported by his family and friends. He restores, documents, and rehomes machines in the central Alberta region. We welcome donations, visitors, and anyone interested in learning more about the art and history of sewing.
Thank you for supporting our mission and helping us keep the legacy of sewing alive.
